LAS VEGAS – Pine View (1-1) ended their game Friday night scoring four unanswered touchdowns, smashing Desert Pines 46-16.

After a slow 1st quarter, Prentiss Miller started things off with a 15-yard rushing touchdown and added another touchdown in the 4th quarter.  All in all, Miller rushed for an outstanding 202 yards. Yes, 202 yards on 18 carries.

It wasn’t just Miller who put up amazing numbers. Starting quarterback Braxton Peterson rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Peterson was 8-13 passing for 138 yards adding another touchdown.

Pine View is playing two quarterbacks this year. Freshman Kody Wilstead threw two touchdowns on 91 yards passing. The Panthers feel that playing both quarterbacks gives them more options on offense –using Miller as more of a running quarterback and Wilstead as quarterback that stays in the pocket.

Jake Arslanian finished with 153 yards receiving and two scores, both from Wilstead.

Pine View goes to Salem Hills Friday night, Sept. 2. Coach Hosner needs to keep the Panthers from looking ahead to the biggest rivalry in Southern Utah; the rivalry game between Dixie and Pine View will be at Pine View this year.
