WASHINGTON COUNTY – Traveling southbound on Interstate 15 Sunday evening, Kent and Sherri Winder, of Salt Lake City, encountered a downpour of rain that led to an accident.
The Winders are the parents of West Valley City mayor Mike Winder and owners of Winder Farms.
The accident occurred north of Exit 27 on Interstate 15, near mile marker 29, as reported by St. George News earlier today.
Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Amy Fallows said the Winders’ vehicle rolled off the highway and into the dirt median, rolling at least one time.
Fallows said that Sherri Winder was killed in the rollover and Kent Winder, who was driving, suffered relatively minor injuries. She said that both had been wearing seat belts.
