ST. GEORGE – The 31st annual Jubilee of Trees welcomes great entertainers and Utah celebrities while raising funds for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Dixie Regional Medical Center.
This year’s event will be Nov. 16-21 at The Dixie Convention Center, 1835 South Convention Center Drive. The featured entertainers range from the Bar J Wranglers and Collin Raye, to the Fictionist and Super Steppers.
“We really stepped up the entertainment this year,” Executive Director Shelley Mendenhall said. “We have The Bar J Wranglers from Wyoming, which is just a tradition we are always excited to start the event off with them, and on Thursday we have Fictionist from Provo. We have never done anything for the [younger] demographic before and we are excited for that [concert].”
Mary Nickels from Channel 2 News, along with Ed Rogers, will make an appearance on Saturday. Festive Family Fun Night will take place Monday. Free popcorn and candy canes will be available for all attendees.
The event is open daily to the public. General entry is $3 for adults, $1 for children ages 12-3 and children 2 and younger are free. Each concert has a specific ticketed price. The Jubilee of Trees is one of two main fund raisers that the DRMC Foundation sponsors each year. There are 36 chairmen that oversee the event and more than 2,000 volunteers that make the festivities possible.
“[This event is] huge,” Mendenhall said. “We work on it the entire year. We appreciate the time and talents given from the volunteers and the treasures provided by the sponsors.”
