ST. GEORGE – Congressional candidate hopeful Cherilyn Eagar will be visiting Utah’s Dixie as a part of a tour through the state’s recently redrawn Second Congressional District.

Competing for the seat currently held by Congressman Jim Matheson, Eagar and her campaign team will be holding a town hall and question and answer meeting at the St. George Branch of the Washington County Library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9. The library is located at 88 W. 100 S. in St. George.

Lee Rech, the media spokeswoman for Eagar’s campaign, said it was a good opportunity for people to meet Eagar and have a “one-on-one conversation” with the candidate.

Eagar is running as a conservative republican and is affiliated with the Tea Party movement. Issues she seeks to tackle in Washington DC include repealing Obama-care, working for smaller government, strengthening national borders and tax reform.

These issues and others are a part of what Eagar calls her “Blueprint for Restoring the American Dream,” which can be found on her website.

“We’re all about the restoring the [American Dream],” Eagar said of her campaign.

Eagar also said many of the people she has met during her Second District tour had a common understanding that big government needed to be cut back.

“Utahans basically get it; less is more,” she said.
