ST. GEORGE – After seven months of recovery in medical care and rehabilitation, Marva Cutler prepares to return home and wants to invite everyone to celebrate with her.

Cutler was struck in a hit-and-run accident on June 21, 2011. She has been operated on nine times and has spent 220 days in the hospital and rehabilitation in order to overcome the life threatening injuries she suffered in the accident, which included fractures to her head, spine, legs, and much of her body.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, the public is welcome to go to Kolob Care and Rehabilitation, 175 S. 1200 E., to register for the walk-a-thon held in Cutler’s favor.

Members of the public can pledge as many miles and as much money as they desire during registration. They will then proceed to the designated walk-a-thon course near Kolob Care and Rehabilitation Center.

“The goal is to reach 220 miles to commemorate [her time spent in the hospital],” said Rosie Gracia, Kolob Care and Rehabilitation community liaison.

Participants of theDixie’s Got Talent event have volunteered to be the live entertainment for the fundraiser. Also food, popcorn and drinks will be served to all in attendance.

Cutler will be present at the event to thank those who have donated and participated.
