Ugh! is that interchange almost open yet? so can’t wait. It would be nice if it opened in sections instead of waiting forever more for the whole project to be done. For example, if the new southbound onramp from Dixie Dr. is done before the rest, PLEASE open that section for use!!

Really? You can’t just drive an extra half-mile north and get on there? I’ll never understand the purpose of putting this interchange a quarter-mile from an existing one, right after it was upgraded. The cost-to-benefit balance seems a little off.

Mike, are you daft? Bluff is busy enough as it is, anything they can do to redirect traffic elsewhere will help. Traveling on Dixie Drive to get onto i15 south by having to filter northward into a congested Bluff just doesn’t make sense

The I-15 project is almost history. We can’t argue it one way of the other. However, all those living in the fields are upset as we were promised that the Mall boulevard crossing over riverside drive and then crossing the river to Merrill Lane was to be done years ago. Then they allocated that money for the airport and then found that due to down turn in the economy that they were able to buld the airport project for much less. At this time there are only two avenues in to the fields. From River Road at 1450 and at 300 east in Washington. And the traffic is horrendous at 4:30 to 6:30 in the evenings. So what is the delay on getting that project finished? I believe we need to address this problem now.

Frank must be a busy guy, especially if it takes him too long to get onto southbound I-15 from Dixie Drive where you can turn right on red, AND you get a green arrow. Weird.

Regardless, the issue should have been resolved before the multiple “do-overs” of Black Ridge Dr and the current Bluff St overpass.

And Robert, just tell me where to be and when to be there to argue for the river crossing to the Fields. I’m all in… it’s ridiculous.

Oh this interchange makes sense today and more so in the future. The proposed plans of one day not being able to make left turns from southbound Bluff onto the Blvd. and the bottleneck interchange at Sunset and Bluff doesn’t make sense and is just plain whack!

Mike, actually you do have a valid point of the recent Bluff overpass widening and the Blackridge project, so I see your point of why have another interchange so close by and right after the improvements of the Bluff interchange. After these plans to make Bluff a true nightmare, it makes me think UDOT is screwing this city out of so much $$$. The naive sheep at City Hall are taking it up the @$$!

They’re so worried about Bluff when I think River Rd. sees more congestion from SG Blvd down to the Boulders. But no talk of widening River to 7 lanes, somebody from a real city needs to come in to assist because this road construction and plans are getting out of control, driven by greed.

According to the powers that be at the recent transportation expo at the Dixie Center, the Mall Drive bridge is a high priority. All of the required studies they had to do a couple of years ago are still valid, but they need to get the project going before they expire. Currently, they have applied for grants from the federal government. If those are denied, the official I spoke to said they would issue bonds to finance it.

The southeast part of SG is so neglected when it comes to road projects and bike trail access. You’d think that with all of the money in that part of town, it would be different.
