Washington County Democrat caucuses Tuesday

WASHINGTON COUNTY – The Democratic caucuses for Washington County will take place on Tuesday, March 13.

“It’s definitely the best way to get involved in government,” said Dorothy Engelman, the chair of the Washington County Democratic Party.

Engelman called the caucuses “the roots of the grassroots,” and said it was the place where the people of Washington County could have a hand in ultimately deciding who Utah sends to Washington D.C.

The Democratic caucuses are open to anyone who would like to attend and participate. A person can be a non-party affiliated voter, a new voter, or even a Republican. All may come and speak their minds at the caucuses.

“The Democrats are one group with open arms,” Engelman said.

Engelman also encourages people planning to attend the caucus meetings to arrive early, as a large turnout is expected this year.

The caucus meeting will take place on March 13 at 7 p.m., at the following locations:

  • District  62 Washington City Library, 220 N 300 E in Washington – (435) 627-2706
  • District 71 Hurricane Community Center, Bryce Canyon Room 63 South 100 West in Hurricane – (435) 635-2609
  • District 74 Tonaquint Intermediate School, 1210 West Curly Hollow Drive in St. George – (435) 688-2238
  • District 75 St. George Leisure Arts Center, 86 S. Main in St.George – (435) 627-4500
