ST. GEORGE – The 2012 Thunder Over Utah Air Show setup is in full swing with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels performing practice maneuvers today and the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor arriving this morning.  The airport is also buzzing with activity as ground displays, hospitality tents, and vending areas are being constructed at the St. George Municipal Airport.  The show will take to the skies Saturday and Sunday March 17 -18.

There have been several inquiries related to the weather forecast for this weekend and how it may impact the show. First of all, the show is moving forward and organizers plan to hold the show on both Saturday and Sunday.  There are many factors that determine whether performers will be able to fly and whether the show would be delayed or not take place. As in all decisions, the show will make safety for the performers and fans the number one factor.  In fact, it would take significant weatherto impact the show.  Air shows can take place on days it rains depending upon how much it rains, the duration of the rain, when it occurs, and other factors but all of those factors must be taken into consideration when the show makes a decision regarding weather.  The show cannot predict whether this weekend’s shows will be affected and will not be able to make decisions regarding the show until any potential weather actually arrives.  Show organizers are moving forward in anticipation that the show will take place both Saturday and Sunday.

In the event that weather impacts the show schedule, organizers will communicate as quickly as possible via the show’s Facebook page, e-mails blasts to ticket purchasers, posts on the show’s Web site, and through news releases to the media.  The show is not able to respond to individual e-mails regarding weather.

As has been clearly stated on the show’s Web site and EventBrite ticketing page, there are no rain checks or refunds on ticket purchases.  While the show will not be able to issue refunds or rain checks, the show intends to do everything it can to put on two great days of a safe and entertaining air show.
