Discussion on Hinduism to kick off ‘Great Faiths’ series at Dixie Forum

ST. GEORGE – As a part of its new “Great Faiths” discussions, the Dixie Forum will be presenting a presentation on Hinduism by University of Nevada at Las Vegas professor Dr. Satish C. Bhatnagar on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

A native of India, Bhatnagar came to the United States in 1968 to work on his doctorate degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., and has taught mathematics at UNLV since 1974. He is a founding member of Friends of India in Las Vegas, the World Association of Vedic Studies and the American Hindu Association.

The Forum will begin at 12 p.m. in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the Dixie State College campus. Admission is free for all community members, DSC students, and faculty and staff.

The weekly Dixie Forum series will continue its 2012 Fall Semester slate on Tuesday, Oct. 9, with the second “Great Faiths” discussion, featuring a presentation on Buddhism by Marge Kinder.
