Colorful, energetic community celebration; USA Freedom Run

ST. GEORGE – The USA Freedom Run, a joyous and energetic celebration of our country’s unique freedoms, is coming to St. George on Feb. 16.

The Freedom Run is not a competitive race, but rather an event to show support for those who have sacrificed so that others can live in a free county. It is a gathering of like-minded people who are not afraid to stand up and be proud to be an American. At the beginning of each race, the colors are flown and the National Anthem is played. Red, white and blue color stations bring the party to life as each participant literally transforms into the colors of Old Glory.

A portion of all entry fees is donated to veterans’ organizations. More than a dozen Freedom Runs will be held across the western United States in the coming year; the next is scheduled for March 9 in Las Vegas.

The run will be held Feb. 16 at the Dixie State College of Utah campus. Check-in opens at 8 a.m., and the first wave of runners will take off at 10.

Online registration is open until Feb. 15 and costs $40 for adults, $35 for team members and $25 for children age eight to 13. Children age seven and under attend free with a paying adult. Participants can run alone or in a Freedom Team with a minimum of three people.

Join dozens of community members to run in support of freedom and all those who protect it.
