ST. GEORGE – The Color Country T-Trak Club of Southern Utah is hosting the first Red Rock Rail Model Train Show at the Hurricane Community Center on April 19 and 20.
On Friday, the show will be open from 3-9 p.m. and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $5 and kids 10 and under are free with a paying adult.
The show will have several layouts from Utah and Nev., including a wonderful re-creation of the Hogwart’s Castle and London area and the Color Country T-Trak layout, which is a regular at the Hurricane Peach Days Festival.
Among many vendors, there will be layouts from N-scale, HO-scale and even G-scale track sizes. And “Operation LifeSaver” to teach about train safety. Nevada Northern Railway will be talking about the full-sized working railroad that they have in Ely, Nev., on which people can ride and even become the engineer or conductor.
The Color Country T-Trak Club is a member of the Southern Utah Division of the Rocky Mountain Region of the National Model Railroad Association. It is always looking for new members to join and have fun creating modules for personal use and club layouts. Those who like model trains or building models or dioramas are encouraged to become a member of this group. Club representatives will be at the show to talk with anyone interested.
