HURRICANE – The 2013 WORCS Sand Hollow SVRA brought dozens of off-road enthusiasts to the Sand Mountain off-highway vehicle area for a three-day weekend of high-octane entertainment.

Several adult and youth races were held on Friday, but the main event came on Saturday when riders from three classes participated in eight contests. Racers and spectators witnessed a few crashes, but nothing serious. All left dusty and more than a little bronzed by the Southern Utah sun.

The Sand Hollow SVRA continues Sunday with a kids’ event and four more races. More information can be found on the race website.

The first annual event is part of the World Off Road Championship Series of racing events, which includes races in California and Nevada later this year.
