Butch Jentzsch(April 24, 1952 – September 10, 2013)

Lesslie “Butch” Jentzsch, 61 of St. George UT passed away September 10 2013. He was born April 24 1952 in Salt Lake City, UT to Melville & Marjorie Passey Jentzsch. He married Karma on April 23 2005 in Salt Lake City; they later relocated to St. George.

Butch’s proudest achievement was his multiple years working with different children’s charities & being a professional Santa for over 30 years. He later went on to organize his own charity ‘Karing for Utah Kids’ which he ran for over 12 years. He was a major sports fanatic especially softball and Golf. Butch was known for his jokes and care free life style.

He is survived by his wife Karma of St. George, Children: Melrie (Marc) Peterson of Riverton, UT; James (Lori) Boyter of Salina, UT; Bobbie (Dave) Garcia of St. George, UT 12 Grandkids and 3 Great Grandkids. Brothers: Rick (Australia); Edd (Washington); Kris (California) and his FA Judy Jacobson.

He was preceded in death by Grandson, Kody West.

Funeral Services

  • Memorial services celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1731 South Convention Center Drive, St. George. A toast to his life will follow the services.

Arrangements are made under the direction of Heideman Hughes Mortuary, 435-674-5000. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a children’s charity of your choice in Honor of Butch Jentzsch.

    Butch was a fantastic guy. I wish I knew him longer. So sorry Karma. Best wishes.
