Patricia Ruth Allen Schneider

On January 18,2014 Patricia Ruth Allen Schneider left this earth to be with her family beyond the veil. Patricia was born on May 21, 1938 in a log cabin in Rio Dell, California to Raymond Leon Allen and Ruth Jensen Allen. At age 3 her parents purchased the family farm in Arcata, California where she lived until her marriage. On June 25, 1955 she married her husband, Charles Taylor Schneider; a year later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Pat or, Patsy, as her family and friends called her, had many talents- too many list. She loved to paint and was an amazing artist. She was an excellent seamstress. Telling stories and writing poetry was a favorite past time especially when surrounded by family.  A big family gathering, with games, was her favorite place to be. Pat felt that motherhood was a divine and noble calling and raised her voice to support and defend it. She loved to study the Gospel of Jesus Christ and used her depth of knowledge to share her testimony. Pat loved working in the Oakland, Nauvoo and St George temples. Elder and Sister Schneider served three missions. Their first mission was in Ireland, the second to Nauvoo, Illinois, and finally a family history mission in Canada.

Schneider Pat 1She is survived by her husband, nine daughters and one son, 43 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one sister. Her surviving children in the St. George area include Linda Galyean, Leslie Smith Fisher, Laurie Thompson, LeeAnne Stanard, Christina Ward, Suzy Harrington and their spouses.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.
  • The viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral services at 11 a.m. at the LDS Morningside Chapel, 930 Morningside Drive, St. George, Utah.
  • There will also be a viewing on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 6-7 p.m., at Heideman Hughes Mortuary, 1037 East 700 South, St. George, Utah.
  • The Interment will take place at Tonaquint Cemetery in St George, Utah following the funeral service.
