Fire crews respond to structure fire in Toquerville

TOQUERVILLE – Hurricane Valley Fire crews responded to the report of a structure fire in the Toquerville area Tuesday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., a passerby reported seeing an ATV and pallets by a home at 780 West Field Road on fire with wind pushing flames under the eves, Hurricane Valley Fire Chief Tom Kuhlmann said in a statement.

When fire crews arrived on the scene they found the fire had spread to an SUV and the side of the home. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.

Damages to the structure are estimated at $22,000, Kuhlmann said. Occupants of the structure were evacuated and no injuries were reported in connection with the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Sounds like to me that possibly the Wheeler was driven recently and was still hot. Wind comes along and blows some tumbleweeds into it. Hope the people in the house will be able to get their home repaired quickly.
