ST. GEORGE — Region 9’s softball teams went through their final tune ups in the preseason before region begins next week as St. George hosted several tournaments this weekend. Dixie and Canyon View played in the Sunroc Invitational at the Little Valley Fields and Snow Canyon hosted the Snow Canyon Spring Tournament as more than a dozen teams from around Utah visited the area to enjoy the Dixie sunshine and play softball.

Region 9 action begins Tuesday as defending region champion Snow Canyon is at Canyon View, Desert Hills is at Dixie and Hurricane is at Pine View. All games are slated to start at 4 p.m.

St. George News photographer Robert Hoppie captured some of the action from the sunny, but windy Saturday in southern Utah.

You missed the 2A/3A Spring Warm Up at the Canyons, with two local teams Pine View and Desert Hills. Also missed the 4A/5A which had Dixie and Canyon View the previous weekend!

    Wow Ken,
Maybe you should be happy that they got this coverage. I’m sure they can’t be everywhere, every weekend.
