Grand Canyon seeks inventive artists, recycled pieces for Earth Day art show

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK – The Grand Canyon Green Team invites artists to help celebrate Earth Day with an art show featuring inventive pieces made of recycled materials. This year, the theme is water conservation.

Entries should be comprised of at least 75 percent recycled materials, with a focus on water bottles. Art should weigh no more than 50 pounds and must be able to fit in the bed of a small pickup truck. All art pieces must be delivered to park headquarters on April 18 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Submitted pieces will be displayed during Earth Day events, held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on April 20 at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. This art show is open to artists of all ages.

The Grand Canyon Green Team is comprised of employees from various National Park Service divisions, park concessioners and park partners collaboratively working to increase the awareness and level of environmental stewardship within the Grand Canyon community.
