DSU Symphony Orchestra performs final concert of season

ST. GEORGE – The Dixie State Symphony Orchestra performs their final concert of the season with guest violinist Frédéric Moreau of Paris, France on Saturday. Frédéric Moreau has been invited to numerous festivals and prestigious concert halls and has performed more than a thousand concerts as soloist.

Mr. Moreau will perform the Paganini Violin Concerto in D Major with the DSSO. He is an international award winner and first prize recipient in violin and chamber music at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. He has studied violin principally under Jean Fournier and Régis Pasquier – graduate studies, and Yehudi Menuhin and Tibor Varga – Master classes.

As founder of the chamber orchestra “Les Violons de France” and of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ile-de-France, Moreau devotes his time to these groups performing nearly one hundred concerts as soloist and conductor each year. With these groups he has adapted a repertory showcasing the virtuosity of the violin.

In addition to Paganini, the orchestra will be performing John Williams Olympic Fanfare and Theme written for the 1984 Summer Olympics and Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony.
