Louise Fluckiger Stirling

Stirling(June 3, 2014 – March 27, 1929)

Louise Fluckiger Stirling, 85, passed away June 3, 2014.  She was born March 27, 1929 in Afton, Wyoming to Lyman Wilford Fluckiger and Calpurna Burton.  She was married to Thomas Eldon Stirling on March 27, 1947 in the St. George Temple on her 18th birthday.

Louise’s life work was raising her nine children and serving in her church.  She enjoyed sewing and handiwork, reading, music, flowers, genealogy, and camping.  She also loved to write and wrote several stories for children and some poetry.

She is survived by her husband Eldon Stirling and her nine children: Karon Stirling, Lynn (Glynis) Stirling, Dean (Leslie) Stirling, Joyce (Ron) Brotherton, Thomas Stirling, Shirley Jentzsch, Tana (Scott) Hayes, Christine Stirling, Lyman Stirling, and a brother Burt (Valene) Fluckiger.  She has 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m., with a viewing at 10 a.m. at the Leeds chapel.
  • Interment will be at the Leeds Cemetery.

Arrangements are made under the direction of Heideman Hughes Mortuary 435-674-5000. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the missionary fund for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
