The suspect, who demanded money Friday at approximately 10:30 a.m. from a teller at the Chase Bank, 715 West Telegraph Street, was described by witnesses as being a heavy-set middle-aged white male about 5 foot 10 inches tall. The suspect was given money and left the bank.

He was further described as having an unshaven or “scruffy” face.  He was wearing a blue baseball cap, tan shirt and khaki shorts.   No hair could be seen protruding from under the cap.

The suspects vehicle was described as a “white 80’s Jeep, possibly a Wrangler, with Nevada license plates.” It was further described as having a “lift kit” and silver running boards. It had a soft top with tape covering the back of it.

There were no injures, and no weapons were observed by witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the F.B.I. and surrounding law enforcement agencies.

If you have information relating to this incident, the vehicle or the suspect in the photos, please contact the Washington City Police Department through the dispatch center at 435-634-5730, or contact the local office of the F.B.I.

No weapon’s….just walks in and asks for money and they gave it to him? Got to be more to this story.

whether or not a weapon is visible or the suspect says they have one, bank employees are trained not to ask questions or “be a hero” when someone comes in and slips a note asking for money. i certainly wouldn’t want to be the one that tells a suspect “no” only because I don’t see a gun, just to have them pull out a weapon and shoot me or a fellow employee or customer….would you?

horrible photos… guess we know where chase isn’t spending their trillions…

maybe i’m looking at the photo wrong, but isn’t this guy wearing a hat? pretty sure most bank robbers wear hats to avoid being properly identified by the bank’s cameras. no matter the clarity of the image – his face is partially covered. the fact that there are thousands of Chase branches, each branch filled with dozens of cameras, all recording every inch of the branch every second of the day, and that these particular images can be retrieved to submit to the police and FBI…guess we know where Chase is spending their trillions. hey, maybe you could invent a program that sees through hats and submit it to Chase for use in their branches, then you could get a piece of their trillions. just saying…

Doesn’t he look an awful lot like the guy on the SGP website—also still at large for bank robbery?

Why dont banks(and everywhere else) put cameras at eye level at all of the teller windows? The security cameras are never at a proper angle to get a good shot at anyones face and they are always grainy and difficult to see the person clearly.

i’m no security expert…but i’m sure it’s because it would be difficult for the camera to see through the bank teller to the suspect standing in front of them. or if the camera were in front of the teller, the suspect could just cover it with their hand, or a withdrawal slip… the cameras are placed up high and behind the teller line so the bank employees cannot be in the way of the shot, so the suspects cannot disable the cameras or cover the lens, etc.

So what about nearby stores…how many of them have camera’s?
Maybe he went in Wal-Mart to buy the paper to write the note.
Or Best Buy, or Staples….don’t they have camera’s?
And Banks should add a camera at their door….showing who walks in or out….Or is that to overwhelmingly logical?

Time to put security cameras in the employee’s name tags.
