ST. GEORGE — Just about a mile north of the Southern Utah Parkway, Highway 7, a grey Nissan Frontier was traveling northbound on River Road when the driver lost control and rolled. The pickup truck came to rest upside down on the east side of the roadway.
“The driver was traveling down the road, became distracted and over-corrected, this caused the vehicle to flip,” said St George Police officer Judd Callaway.
The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. Gold Cross Ambulance was initially dispatched to the scene however the driver refused transport.
“The driver walked away with a couple of scrapes on his fingers and his elbow,” Callaway said.
The Utah Highway Patrol was also on scene assisting in slowing traffic down while St. George City Police investigated the accident and a tow truck was brought in to remove the vehicle.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

“became distracted” I thought the law stated that any manipulation of a cellular device was against the law. So why was I almost ran off the road twice by people on their phone Monday.
If you were almost ran off the road by someone that was manipulating their cell phone on Monday, you should have gotten their license plate number and called the police department and signed a complaint against them so an officer could have given them a ticket instead of complaining about it on the St George News Website. People in this town already drive stupid enough, with or without a cell phone in their hands…
