No Filter: Jeremy Johnson rides the short bus

ST. GEORGE – In this Episode 13 of the “No Filter Show,” Paul Ford and Grady Sinclair discuss several things including: How St. George got its name; when and how St. George got the D on the Black Hill. And, as they drive through St. George spreading Christmas cheer, they pick up a very interesting passerby. Let’s ride along!

Ed. note:  Jeremy Johnson is a St. George businessman facing legal claims against him in both Nevada and Utah at the federal court level. See all St. George News reports on proceedings related to him linked here. Johnson is unable to discuss details of the case due to a court-imposed gag-order. Nothing in this episode of the “No Filter Show” should be taken as a position of St. George News in favor of or against Johnson’s guilt or innocence. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Isn’t that the guy being charged by the feds for fraud? truly bizzare

    • Chris December 24, 2014 at 2:24 pm

Yes, it is that Jeremy Johnson. Interestingly, Paul Ford is named as a co-conspirator in some of the legal complaints against Johnson. I don’t think we will hear them talk about that topic on “No Filter.”

    • Joes Myth December 24, 2014 at 2:26 pm

A truly bizarre love triangle. Wasn’t Paul in bed with Jeremy? Maybe spreading some cheer will get him some karma in court? Wasn’t that what Haiti was about or was that because he needed to move his fleet down there to avoid confiscation?

  • What?! December 24, 2014 at 2:07 pm

    Jeremy Johnson?!?? Really people?

  • JR December 24, 2014 at 2:24 pm

The D on the hill is such a eyesore, let’s remove it. We can take pride in our natural settings instead of a concrete letter

    • Professor December 24, 2014 at 3:51 pm

Do your research first Junior. The D on the hill is just the natural rock with a white wash paint job. The custom of painting the D has been a college tradition since 1915. Which means this has been going on for 100 yrs next year. The Dixie on the red hill is a high school tradition that has been going on for just over 100 yrs.
The cell towers on the hills are more of an eyesore than either of the Dixie traditions. But hey, I like the phone service so I guess they can stay. Nothing wrong with the D or the Dixie either. There are more serious things going on to worry about then that.

    • Koolaid December 24, 2014 at 4:21 pm

That “D” stands for many things traditional of St George; Discrimination, Drugs, Divorces, Double-standards, Denial… just not Dancing!

      • mesaman December 24, 2014 at 6:08 pm

        And, in your case, Dumb!

        • Koolaid December 24, 2014 at 9:55 pm

          And in your case, Dumbedumdedumb…

      • Vet December 25, 2014 at 12:09 pm

Coolaid, are you off your medication again. I’m worried about you . Adam Lanza comes to mind.

    • Native born New Mexican December 24, 2014 at 4:49 pm

What a spoil sport you are JR! Let people live and enjoy things Like the D! Do we all have to live according to the book of JR? I get so tired of outsiders (that includes me) coming here and demanding that every thing be changed to suit them. I accept that the people in the community where I am living have lived here for generations and have their way of doing things. In my home town in New Mexico I own property. I will not sell even one tiny piece of it to an outsider with big ideas. I have more respect for my neighbors than to do that to them.

      • koolaid December 24, 2014 at 5:33 pm

Imagine if that attitude about change was used toward slavery, women’s suffrage, equal rights…. the list goes on. Now go beat your woman and tell her to get back into the kitchen, where women traditionally are supposed to be.

        • ICALLRaiseYa December 24, 2014 at 7:48 pm

Your no match for Native New Mexican’s logic dude. I’d zip it if I were you.

          • Koolaid December 25, 2014 at 6:10 pm

Hey, if you don’t like it, you can leave!

    • Vet December 25, 2014 at 11:59 am

Go home JR , if you was from here you would understand.
But I know how you feel, lets you and me go to California and take down the Hollywood sign.

  • Wy guy December 24, 2014 at 2:31 pm

Yeah, shouldn’t be in jail, let me here his freinds come to his defense because they rode his coattails and benefited from him stealing.

  • Wy guy December 24, 2014 at 2:33 pm

I left out “he” because he should be in jail.

  • The Duke December 24, 2014 at 3:27 pm

Sorry dogs. St George got its name from Philip St George Cooke. The donor of the equipment used by the 1861 Dixie Cotton Mission members and the commanding officer of the Mormon Battalion, who’s veterans made up most of the orignal settlers. (The Dixie Xotton Mission)

  • asianspa December 24, 2014 at 3:49 pm

Why glorify a fraud?? The Jeremy Johnson appearance is silly, stupid, and in poor taste. You guys have to be kidding me….

        Good fence sitting response Editor.
And until we actually see a photo of Sen. Harry Reid- Nev. actually receiving a bag of kick back cash for his connections, we should wait for the courts decision. Speaking of which, do you think the feds (dragging this out 3+ years), know they don’t have a case? Just wondering.

        • Avatar photo Joyce Kuzmanic December 24, 2014 at 10:13 pm

I CALL Raise Ya – not fence sitting, watching – and stymied by gag-orders … many facets to the charges here.
I appreciate the raise in the ante. I do.

        • Koolaid December 25, 2014 at 6:13 pm

How about a photo of Shurtleff and Lee getting bags of campaign contribution cash? Wasn’t Swallow also in that love triangle too?

        • Chris December 25, 2014 at 6:19 pm

The feds have not dragged this out at all. It is the defense that is delaying. The case is air tight, and Jeremy knows it, trying to delay prison as long as possible.

  • asianspa December 24, 2014 at 6:16 pm

Will you offer balance and maybe promote a fundraiser for those that were victimized by the idiotic things sold by Jeremy Johnsons boiler rooms over the years??

Several of the drug dealers and others you like to cover (Arrest by Arrest lately) consider themselves businessmen, Why dont you do a cute little spoof of them being picked up on the side of the road and riding the little bus?? Maybe you can have the female wannabe cop accusing hurricane police of discrimination and later getting caught in her own little scheme recently make a cameo in the next No Filter.

    • EMtoasty December 25, 2014 at 10:59 am

What happened to “innocent until proven guilty”? Apparently , that’s only in a court of law, and not by the court of public opinion. The legal system in our country is run by human beings. And even though it is a great system, it has flaws. Maybe allow one local free citizen the ability to celebrate his holiday by bringing cheer. Let the legal system continue on this man tomorrow.

  • Joe Smith December 24, 2014 at 6:18 pm

I’m not sure what kind of reaction they were going for by putting Johnson in the video, but it seems really strange. Are the No Filter guys friends with Johnson or something?

    • Koolaid December 24, 2014 at 9:57 pm

Guy friends with a Johnson? I don’t even want to go there!

  • Shelly December 24, 2014 at 7:38 pm

Jeremy Johnson’s four week jury trial begins March 2, 2015. He is charged with 86 counts of felony communications fraud, and is accused of bilking consumers out of several million dollars, about $275,000,000, through his iWorks internet company. Four other members of his company are also charged. Should be interesting to see how it all turns out.

    • Evil twins mommy December 24, 2014 at 10:38 pm

I’m just as interested in this trial as you are I am really curious about what the outcome will be and we will have the facts of what happened. So I’m going to get me a large soda and heat a bag of popcorn and let the show begin…….

  • Big Bill December 24, 2014 at 9:35 pm

Poor taste STGNews. Any more fraudsters like JJ you want to spotlight? Let’s make this a weekly show with a new fraudster every week. Lame.

    • ICALLRaiseYa December 24, 2014 at 10:57 pm

      Yea Big Bill !!
Speaking of fraudsters, maybe the next segment could high lite a Obama look- a- like pushing ‘If you like to dance to the music, you can dance’ (or maybe) ‘If you want the Colorado river water piped to St. George for next to nothing, I say, it’s yours! Executive Order #19 coming up!
Side note: If Jeremy Johnson goes down, there’s going to be a lot of established credit card firms who made millions doing the same thing, Running For The Door out of town.

  • asianspa December 24, 2014 at 10:15 pm

St. George News have some sensitivity towards the victims of Jeremy Johnson and pull this garbage off the site all together!!!! Innocent until Proven guilty yes…. but doing this garbage with Jeremy Johnson undermines the seriousness of the crime he is accused of. Sorry you can’t buy a bank for money laundering purposes and you cant quite buy a politician to try to help you weasel around laws either especially when there are other higher bidders out there with their own self interests at stake.

  • IN THE GAME December 24, 2014 at 10:19 pm

Paul Ford is exactly right when he says, “Good old Jeremy Johnson really knows how to spread some Christmas cheer” Yes Paul, when it isn’t your money it’s easy to spend. Yup, this little skit was right down good ol’ Jeremy’s alley. He loves nothing more than to show off and to act like a big shot. I gotta go now, I think I just threw up in my mouth.

  • Limpd December 24, 2014 at 11:37 pm

Paul Ford is not much better than Jeremy Johnson. They are all D Bags. You know…. The same ones who use to travel in packs a few years ago drinking the Jeremy Koolaid. They all wore those pointy shoes, bedazzled jean pockets with thick white stitching and Affliction T shirts. lol . They are just doing a loser brotha a favor. My guess…. Jeremy owns some portion if this ” super cool” short bus and wanted to show it off. Just more ego stuff. However, referring to it as a short bus is classless, befitting these losers. That refers to mentally challenged people… Not the morally corrupt, who could learn something from those who truly are mentally disabled. I think Shane Brinkerhoff runs this or owns this site and he is friends with these losers, so he probably just had to throw them a boner. Sorry. Bone.

    • Chris December 25, 2014 at 6:26 pm

You are correct, Limpd. Ford is cut off the same sleazebag bolt of cloth as Jeremy. I suspect that St Geo News knew nothing of his background when they brought him aboard.

  • Bill Matz December 24, 2014 at 11:56 pm

I’m inquiring of our Wizards, Mr. Maz – I’m so sorry – it is playing for me fine. Email us privately: [email protected] how we may contact you to discuss whatever might be the problem?

  • Truth teller December 25, 2014 at 12:13 pm

Innocent u until proven guilty is only for those of whom don’t know the facts and have been screwed by the defendant all ready. The list list long of those of whom has direct personal contact with this individual. Therfore he is guilty before man and God in this sense … Now it’s up to the court sysytem if he will be held accountable as for as the law goes. But he is guilty as for as no integrity, no morals, and will be judged according to commandments, and I find it hard to believe if he repents he will ever be able to pay back the money, the heart ache, and the lives lost do to his actions. Good example, King David he lost his inheritance.
    Ed. ellipsis.

  • Brandon Debenham December 26, 2014 at 1:38 pm

i can’t even believe this was a news article? Just when I thought stg news was legit they post an article about Jeremy Johnson? Talk about biased news. #tasteless #biogtry

  • Paul Ford December 26, 2014 at 2:30 pm

Brandon Debenham. If you’re Brandon D. Then I’m Henry Ford.

  • Joe Smith December 26, 2014 at 2:49 pm

Yeah i thought those guys were kind of funny and quirky, but knowing they are associates of a known fraudster I have lost any respect for them. Jeremy Johnson is exactly the type of thing we DON’T want on Christmas. Really in very poor taste boys…

  • IN THE GAME December 26, 2014 at 4:59 pm

Jeremy Johnson…. “The modern day Robin Hood.” Oh wait… Robin Hood only stole from the rich.

  • Shelly December 26, 2014 at 6:42 pm

    Google ‘Sociopath’, very interesting.

  • Brandon Debenham December 28, 2014 at 12:36 am

This is bdeb. Is that you Paul? Or is it an imposter?

  • Brandon Debenham December 28, 2014 at 1:07 pm

Paul I like you buddy but JJ? It’s just socially irresponsible to like JJ. You are talking about someone with a lower approval rating then Barack Obama. Utahns would rather hang with Obama then JJ and that’s not saying much! I got your back Paul. Even if JJ doesn’t

  • Teem fahz January 22, 2015 at 4:38 am

Guilty or not these geniuses gave their credit card information to a illegitimate company. They should be charged for being such a gullible smut . Instead of fraud he should be charged with taking advantage of the mentally challenged.
