3 people bound with duct tape during home invasion robbery; 3 suspects at large

MESQUITE, Nevada – Police officers responded to a home invasion in Mesquite, Nevada Saturday after three men broke into a woman’s home, tied up the homeowner and two other people, and stole illegal drugs and cash.

According to a statement released by the Mesquite Nevada Police Department Monday, three black men entered the home through an unlocked sliding glass door. The men were armed and wearing long-sleeved clothing, latex gloves, and bandannas to cover their face.

The men proceeded to bind the homeowner and two other family members with duct tape, the statement said, and then searched the home for valuables. The suspects stole illegal narcotics and cash from the home, and then fled the scene.

One of the family members was able to free herself and ran to a neighbor’s home and contacted police, according to the statement. Officers arrived on scene and searched the area, but were unable to find the suspects.

During an investigation of the home, officers discovered that drugs were being grown in the home, the statement said.

As this report is published, no arrests have been made and no citations have been issued, Mesquite Police Lt. MaQuade Chesley said, and the incident is still under investigation.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Mesquite Police Department crime tip line at 702- 346-8826.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

This is movie stuff right there. Stealing illegal drugs, cash, the whole duct tape thing.

Hard to know who to feel sorry for in this one. “I’m breaking the law, and then these other guys came in and broke the law on me.” Call the sewer department.

    THREE BLACK MEN in Mesquite?
Yeah….they had on gloves so they didn’t leave fingerprints and now all the drugs and money are gone so no one can get mad at us?

AGAIN: why is there never a LOCATION in these reports?

Anothermom: Tweekers steal from other tweekers all the time. That IS part of the code.

  • sagemoon January 26, 2015 at 7:44 pm

Wow, Mesquite is getting a lot of action lately. The article doesn’t say meth was involved but I bet it was. Stoners don’t duct tape their rivals but tweekers would. Or maybe coke heads.

Yes, about as much as St George

When growing your own “drugs”, it is best to lock all sliding glass doors, and arm oneself.

Those dang duct taping tweekers stealing from tweekers!

  • ixlan January 27, 2015 at 8:17 am

I’m sure they were growing it for medical reasons! If they weren’t, why would they go to the police and say,” Hey, someone robbed me of my illegal drugs. Thank goodness I still have more in the bedroom!”

  • Brian January 27, 2015 at 8:27 am

They should outlaw duct tape. I’m so sick of hearing that “duct tape doesn’t kill people, people kill people”. Outlaw the duct tape already, especially the assault duct tape, like was used in this robbery.

I think it was MO Ferguson.! Because he’s not here crying about KOOLAID. LOL.!

  • Anon January 27, 2015 at 8:33 am

The question I would like answered is if the police are going to charge the homeowner with growing drugs (pot, I’m assuming). I mean, they admitted to it being in the home…

    • My Evil Twin January 27, 2015 at 10:43 am

They may have admitted it, but where is the evidence? 😉

“Officer, THEY STOLE MY DOPE!” 😀

When I first seen the headline, I thought this was the story of the home invasion on Foremaster Ridge sometime within the last few weeks. I had just heard something about it but didn’t get any details. Guys with guns went into a home with people there and robbed them ? Anyone else heard this ?

  • Knan January 27, 2015 at 2:21 pm

Maybe they were in the mushroom growing ring going on in the in the streets if geezy

  • ST.Geezy January 27, 2015 at 3:25 pm

why … would they call the cops if their drugs got stolen its not like they had a ton of it they probably only had a quarter or something in that range and plus i wouldn’t of called at all if the three of them robbed you they were probably been friends for along time so just ask around and find out who it was …
    Ed. ellipses.

    • ladybugavenger January 28, 2015 at 10:28 pm

Im pretty sure the one that got free from the duct tape called the cops because they were duct taped.

  • Judge January 27, 2015 at 4:19 pm

They need to stop saleing duct tape or the must let everyone for fun pop a cap …
    Ed. ellipsis.

  • koolaid January 27, 2015 at 7:32 pm

Maybe the thieves turned to mesquite because their St George connections got busted?
