ST. GEORGE — A collision on Brigham Road just west of the main roundabout in Bloomington Saturday afternoon knocked one car on its side, and two people were transported to the hospital as a result of the accident.
Just after 3 p.m., a Nissan Pathfinder was coming out of a parking lot just north of Brigham Road, St. George Police Sgt. Wade Johnson said. The driver of the Pathfinder did not notice a Pontiac Montana minivan driving westbound on Brigham Road and turned in front of it. The Pathfinder ended up on its side as a result of the collision, and the occupants of the vehicle were temporarily trapped inside.
The St. George Fire Department responded, and firefighters were able to free the occupants without using any heavy equipment, which they originally feared they would need.
Both occupants of the Pathfinder were transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center. At the time of this publication, Johnson said he didn’t know their current condition.
The minivan sustained heavy front-end damage. The occupants of the minivan were shaken up but uninjured.
The road was closed for about a half-hour while crews cleaned up the debris.
Johnson said the driver of the Pathfinder was cited for failure to yield before entering the roadway.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
