Police chief: Zero tolerance; 3 meth dealer arrests follow heroin trafficking arrests

MESQUITE, Nev. – After Mesquite narcotics detectives arrested  three Southern Utah men Tuesday for the sale and trafficking of heroin, they made three more felony drug arrests Wednesday arising from a separate investigation involving several known methamphetamine dealers in the Mesquite area.

After the detectives conducted multiple controlled purchases of methamphetamine from what they called known drug dealers, according to a press statement issued Friday, the police SWAT team executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The search yielded illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency, the statement said, and resulted in the arrest of two adults. A third adult was located and arrested the following day.

Lucinda Corral, 38, Antonio Gallegos, 26, and Cherish Hinton, 20, were each arrested and charged with felony sales of methamphetamine, felony conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is another example of the Mesquite Police Department’s stance of zero tolerance regarding illegal and dangerous drugs being trafficked and sold in our city,” police Chief Troy Tanner said before expressing gratitude to the narcotics detectives and SWAT team for their hard work.

The Police Department is asking anyone who sees suspicious activity in their neighborhood, or anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity, to call the Mesquite Police Investigations crime tip line at 702-346-8826.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
