LEEDS — The St. George Astronomy Group will hold a free public star party at the Silver Reef Museum Friday from 9-11 p.m.
The event will begin with a lecture in the historic Cosmopolitan Building, 1915 Wells Fargo Drive in the Silver Reef area of Leeds.
The lecture and slideshow will discuss what viewers will see in the night sky and which telescopes will be available.
After the lecture, at about 9:45 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to see a variety of celestial objects, including the planet Saturn, globular star clusters, open star clusters, double stars and more.
Reservations are requested but not required for the event, and donations are appreciated. The next St. George Astronomy Group event will be held in Ivins, Aug. 12.
If the weather is cloudy, the event will be canceled.
