HURRICANE – Police have released the name of a Hurricane woman who died Friday from injuries sustained in a vehicle collision at the intersection of State Street and 1150 West in Hurricane.
In a statement released Saturday morning, Hurricane Police Department identified the woman involved in the collision as 51-year-old Nani L. Furse.
Furse died at approximately 5 p.m. Friday after a collision that occurred at 1150 W. State St. around 4:09 p.m. involving the car she was driving, a gray 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, and a silver 2006 GMC Sierra truck driven by a 36-year-old man.
The truck was traveling west on State Street approaching the intersection of 1150 West as Furse was southbound on 1150 West approaching the intersection. The two collided in the intersection.
Emergency responders used the Jaws of Life to remove Furse from her vehicle and transported her by ambulance in critical condition to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George where she later died.
In its Saturday morning release, the Police Department relayed the following on behalf of Furse’s family:
Her family has asked that we express how grateful they are for those who stopped, and for those first responders who arrived and attended to Nani. They are thankful for the love and support they have received during this very difficult time.
The accident remains under investigation.

Well, if this was caused by distracted driving I hope the punishment is severe. Law needs to come down on this hard and set some examples. I don’t care how worthy they are–make an example of it, or it will never stop…
Yeah right the court system will eliminate distracted driving and Utah will legalize prostitution
