ST. GEORGE — Failing to defrost the car windshield led to a crash on Tabernacle Street and a woman being cited by police Thursday.
“This is kind of an interesting accident,” St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said, “… a white Chevy Silverado was just parked on the side of the street; there was an adult male driver seated behind the – seated in the driver’s seat, however it wasn’t moving – he was just parked on the side of the road.”
A green Infiniti driven by a woman was westbound on Tabernacle just after 8 a.m. Thursday.
“This lady left with her windows all frosted,” Despain said. “She didn’t scrape them off, so she couldn’t see very well. So she’s driving westbound at about 800 East, she runs into the back of this parked truck on the side of the street.”
The driver of the Infiniti complained of some head injuries and was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George by Gold Cross Ambulance. The driver of the truck was apparently uninjured and refused treatment at the scene.
The Infiniti was towed from the scene with major front end damage. The truck had minor damage only and was able to be driven away.
“She (the Infiniti driver) was issued a citation,” Despain said, “for unsafe lane travel and having her windows obstructed.”
It is important to clear your windows before setting out on the roads, Despain said emphatically.
“That’s really the contributing factor here,” he said. “She was driving down the road, and couldn’t see. Her windows were frosted over.”
Units from the St. George Police and Fire departments and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the accident.

I was out on Westridge dr in early morning and saw a green sub pull in front of me and turn into the sunset s hood and had a 4 inch square cleared on the front window, the rest was all ice, must have been a teacher getting to school late.. People know they should clear the window from ice or out a cover over it at night if they don,t have a garage.. People blame, the sun, and medicine for many accidents in this town
Woman driver, no survivor!
I sure it was nothing more than a Mormon haze following her around because she didn’t pay her 10% Sunday
