Film Fanatics: Top 10 must-see movie musicals of all time

REVIEW – Movie musicals of sorts have been around since the 1920s with “The Jazz Singer” as a 1927 precursor to the more true Hollywood musical, “The Broadway Melody,” in 1929. Some 850 musicals were produced before 1950, at least another 666 by 2000, and yet another 215 to date, by loose count.

That’s over 1,700 movie musicals to choose from if one is picking favorites – and picking favorites is just what the “Film Fanatics” do. In this very special episode, co-hosts Bruce Bennett, theater aficionado, and Adam Mast, longstanding film guru, offer their Top 10 favorite movie musicals.

Ready for some nostalgia and reminiscence? Will they pick “Footloose”? “Sound of Music”? “Grease”? “Les Misérables”? “Frozen”? Will they go with the classics, the outre or the modern?
