Hasty turn by pickup pulling trailer results in injury crash on Red Hills Parkway

ST. GEORGE – A collision Monday morning between a pickup truck pulling a trailer and a Honda Civic at N. 1400 East and Red Hills Parkway in St. George injured one person.

The collision occurred at about 8:40 a.m.

“From our investigation,”St. George Police Sgt.  Craig Harding said, “we found that the … truck pulling the trailer pulled out from 1400 East and got hit by the black Honda passenger car,”

The Honda hit the wheel well of the trailer, St. George Police Officer Lona Trombley said. The driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old woman, was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George by Gold Cross Ambulance for injuries to her hand or wrist.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old man, was cited for failure to yield after a stop sign, Trombley said.

The trailer sustained damage including a bent rim and flat tire; the Honda was damaged on the driver side front end and was towed from the scene.

St. George Police Department, St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.
