ST. GEORGE – Two Nissan cars collided Thursday afternoon just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Black Ridge Drive and 1700 South Street in St. George.
A silver Nissan Sentra was northbound on Black Ridge Drive, St. George Police Officer Gage Schimbeck said, while a black Nissan 370Z on 1700 South was making a left-hand turn.
“The silver car was northbound in the right-of-way,” Schimbeck said. “The driver of the black vehicle was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.”
The accident caused only minor injuries, Schimbeck said, including seat belt burns and injuries from an airbag striking the passenger in the black vehicle.
Everyone involved in the accident was properly restrained, and no one was transported to the hospital, St. George Police Officer Lona Trombley said.
The silver Nissan was driven by a 48-year-old woman and had two girls ages 8 and 10 in the car. The black Nissan was driven by a 23-year-old man and had an adult male passenger.
Both cars were damaged in the accident and had to be towed from the scene. The St. George Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the accident.
