ST. GEORGE – Power was temporarily knocked out to over 1,200 customers in St. George Monday afternoon due to a construction mishap.

Around 3:35 p.m., a construction-related problem triggered a power outage to approximately 1,283 power customers in the city, said Marc Mortensen, assistant to the city manager of St. George.

The outage covered an area from St. George Boulevard to Interstate 15 and Donlee Drive to 200 West.

A city power crew was already near the site where the outage originated and on scene within a few minutes, Mortensen said.

Power was restored by 4:20 p.m.
