ST. GEORGE — A collision between a Dodge truck and a Toyota truck on 3000 E. left both vehicles badly damaged and resulted in a citation for the driver of the Toyota.
The Toyota was driven by a woman and had a child passenger. The Dodge was driven by a man who was alone.
Both vehicles were in the inside lane on 3000 E. as they approached 1140 S., St. George Police Sgt. Tyrell Bangerter said.
As they neared 1140 S., the driver of the Toyota changed to the outside (right) lane. For reasons unknown, she then veered back into the left lane, crashing into the Dodge.
The Toyota came to rest on the curb on the west side of 3000 E and the Dodge ended up near the curb on the opposite side of the street.
While the driver of the Toyota complained of concussion-like symptoms, neither she nor anyone else was transported by ambulance. Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage.
The driver of the Toyota was cited for improper lane change.
Airbags were deployed on the Dodge truck.
St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the incident.
Traffic was diverted to a single lane in both north and southbound lanes for approximately 45 minutes.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
