The company has leased a property at 1361 E. Red Hills Parkway, Tuff Shed Vice President of Marketing Phil Worth said.

“With manufacturing facilities in Utah, Nevada and Arizona, we’ve built structures for customers in the St. George market for years,” Worth said.

“So while we’re not new to the area, this new factory-direct Tuff Shed location on Red Hills Parkway will make it much more convenient for our customers in St. George to see our building selection and quality first-hand.”

The new retail outlet is expected to open at the beginning of September and will employ two sales people, one operations person and half a dozen local installers, Worth said.

Tuff Sheds are fully customizable and range in size from small backyard storage sheds to cabin shells and larger.

The company is a certified truss manufacturer and builds all their own trusses, the framework that supports the roof. Generally, a 24-foot truss width is the largest size, Worth said, although that limit can be worked around if needed.

With an almost infinite variety of customizable options, customers can choose something that fits their personal needs.

With Southern Utah’s active lifestyle, Worth predicts many sales will be to customers needing extra storage for mountain bikes, golf clubs, ATVs and other recreation equipment.

Other customers may purchase Tuff Sheds to expand their outdoor living space and express their creativity through man caves, “she sheds,” backyard bars, art studios, home offices and guest quarters, Worth said.

While many people have heard of man caves, she sheds are the female equivalent – a customized space built for reading, crafting, relaxing or whatever suits a woman’s individual needs.

Other buildings available from Tuff Shed include cabin shells, recreation buildings and garages.

Worth said the company will be able to provide aesthetically pleasing exterior treatments that fit in the varied Southern Utah communities – everything from stucco to wood siding.

At the new location in St. George, sales and design consultants will be available to walk customers through the process of selecting and customizing a building, reviewing payment options and checking local permit requirements.

One of the big advantages of having a local presence is the knowledge of local requirements and building codes, Worth said.

Tuff Shed Incorporated is a privately held company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The company was started in 1981 in Rexburg, Idaho, and will celebrate its 35th anniversary next month, Worth said.

Tuff Shed has 45 factories in the United States and 110 retail outlets. In addition, Tuff Shed wholesales to 1,450 locations of The Home Depot.
