David J. Blackett

David J. BlackettDecember 1939 — August 7, 2016

David J. Blackett, 76, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7. He was born in December of 1939 in Salt Lake City. He was married to Patricia Vail-Blackett.

David served for seven years in the Navy. He was an entrepreneur and an accomplished, enthusiastic, very successful businessman. David was especially proud of founding All Makes Body Parts, and he had stores in seven states. He loved to travel, work and drive. His favorite place was the family home in Springdale, but he was so restless that he had to get on the road quite often. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease.

David was so generous, loving, strong and disciplined. He loved his children very much – he always had good intentions and had what was best for everyone in his mind. He left a legacy of love for so many lives that he touched. He will be missed more than words can describe. He was a fighter to the very end, as reflected in the words of the poet Dylan Thomas:

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia; children David (Denise), Charlotte, Darren, Brandon and Krispen; grandchildren Katherine, Sam, Gabriel, Zachary and Jeremy; brother-in-law, Jimmy; sister-in-law, Yolande; beloved nephew, Avery; and his brother Jim in Idaho.
