Tyler Call Truman

Tyler Call Truman, age 39, passed away on October 3, 2016. He was born April 4, 1977, in St. George, Utah, to Lonnie Holt and Leslie Jane Yellis Truman. Tyler was the youngest of 4 children and kept his family in stitches from the day he was born.

Tyler was raised in the red dirt of Dixie and loved it with all his heart. He attended West Elementary and graduated from Dixie High School. He served an LDS mission in Houston, Texas.

Tyler married Cicely Tobler on November 21, 1999, in the St. George LDS Temple. Their union was blessed with two handsome boys, Houston Rex and Wyatt Holt Truman. They later divorced.

Tyler loved life. Anyone who knew Tyler will never forget him. Even the most casual meeting left a great impact, for he was larger than life in both stature and presence. Tyler had more personality in his little finger than most people have in their entire being. He was the life of any gathering and was a natural born entertainer. He was always good for a joke and could sing “Sweet Caroline” better than Neil Diamond.

Tyler loved people. Material things didn’t matter to him; people and relationships were what he valued most. Tyler was the first to pitch in and help – whether sending shoes to Peru or helping a friend in need.

In spite of his outgoing spirit, Tyler fought his own demons and suffered from addiction. After one of the darkest times, he met the light of his life, Sara. They were married October 11, 2014, in Pine Valley, Utah. Tyler not only married Sara that day, he earned three bonus kids – Addison, Easton and Emery – whom he welcomed into his family and loved as his own. They were a team and continued to meet life’s struggles head on.

Tyler was a believing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He cherished his pioneer heritage and enjoyed spending time at the Truman Family Cabin in Pine Valley.

Tyler is survived by his parents; his wife, Sara; his sons: Houston and Wyatt;  step-children:  Addison, Easton and Emery “Mowgli” Nisson; brother; Tavish Truman (Kamie); sisters, Mikell Bundy (Casey) and Teisha Marsden (Michael); 5 nephews and 4 nieces. All residing in St. George, UT.

Tyler is preceded in death by all his grandparents and niece, Olivia Teisha Marsden.
