MESQUITE, Nev. – The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum invites the public to come to the museum Saturday, 11 a.m.-noon to listen to the Christmas stories of yore told by Diana Coonradt. This free family-oriented event is open to all ages.

Diana is a talented local artist involved. For the past several years, Diana has come to the Museum during Christmastime and told stories.

For the early settlers, storytelling was part of the fabric of Christmas.  The pioneers also enjoyed sports, competitions, dances, caroling, family dinners and pageants. Generally, the week leading up to Christmas and the week after were a continuous celebration.

In addition to telling stories on Dec. 3, the museum staff will start trimming the museum’s Christmas tree. All are invited to drop by, help make a homemade ornament and pop it on the tree.
