HURRICANE — America First Credit Union’s Hurricane Branch has been selected as the May 2018 Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Member of the Month. The business will be recognized at the chamber’s monthly luncheon on Thursday, which will also feature guest speaker Ronald Thompson, general manager for the Washington County Water Conservancy District.
This Business Member of the Month recognition is awarded to Hurricane Valley businesses who have contributed extensive time, energy and resources to the community and Southern Utah region.
The Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce, along with the entire community, acknowledges the generous contributions and strong support America First provides to Hurricane Valley and Southern Utah organizations, charities and events. Additionally, America First provides valuable financial services and assistance to their patrons, as well as offers many employment opportunities.
About Ronald W. Thompson
Guest speaker Ronald W. Thompson is the general manager for the Washington County Water Conservancy District. He oversees all operational and financial activities performed by the district and its employees. Prior to joining the district in 1983, Thompson served as an attorney for Washington County and in private practice.
Thompson is a current member of the Utah State Bar. He has served in various leadership positions on boards for the Utah Water Finance Agency, Colorado River Water Users Association, National Water Resources Association, Utah Water Development Commission, State of Utah Drinking Water and more.
Thompson received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and his law degree from the University of Utah.
