SANTA CLARA — Three people were transported to the hospital with injuries after a crash on Santa Clara Drive Tuesday afternoon.

A Cadillac SUV was westbound on Santa Clara Drive as a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling south across the intersection at Lava Flow Drive at about 3:30 p.m., said Steve Ikuta, public information officer for Santa Clara-Ivins Fire and Rescue. The vehicles collided, smashing the door of the Camaro so it couldn’t be opened.

The driver of the Camaro was extracted from the vehicle through the passenger door by responders, Ikuta said.

Of the three people hurt in the crash, none was seriously injured. They were brought to Dixie Regional Medical Center in separate ambulances.

“We were able to transport three patients in stable condition,” Ikuta said.

As Ikuta is not a member of law enforcement, he did not know who was at fault in the crash or if there were any citations issued.

The map below shows the approximate location of the crash.

The Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department also responded to the scene. This report is based on statements from emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
