MESQUITE, Nev. — Dozens of hot air balloons took over the skies this past weekend at the eighth annual “Mesquite Balloon Festival.”

The festival, hosted by the CasaBlanca Resort & Casino and sponsored by Ferrellgas Partners and the Mesquite Gaming Association, began each morning just after dawn as 33 hot air balloons lifted off in to the air to the delight of hundreds of photo-hungry spectators.

Christian Adderson, corporate sales manager for Mesquite Gaming, said the Mesquite Balloon Festival is one of the city’s most anticipated events of the year.

“Each year, this family-friendly event attracts thousands of tourists to Mesquite,” Adderson said.

Friday and Saturday evening featured a balloon night glow, live entertainment and champagne tasting at the CasaBlanca Resort’s Skydome Lounge.

“We’re grateful for all of the support from our volunteers and pilots,” Adderson said.
