“We are so thrilled to be opening the application process once again and to build in Enterprise,” Linda Baker, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah, said in a press release. “This is new area for us, and we are grateful for this opportunity.”

Thursday’s meeting will be held at the Enterprise Utah Library, 393 S. 200 East, from 5- 7 p.m., and the Saturday meeting will be at the Habitat Restore, 835 S. Bluff St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At the meeting, potential Habitat homebuyers will learn all about the process of applying for a home and what it takes to qualify, and they will receive the application.

According to the press release, potential homebuyers must be in need of better housing. They might be currently dealing with poorly made, unhealthy or inadequate housing, unaffordable rent, homes inaccessible for their disabilities, or other shelter issues.

Program participants must be willing to partner with Habitat and put in 250 sweat-equity hours per adult, helping to build their home. Finally they must be able to pay an affordable mortgage; these mortgage payments cycle back into the community to build and repair more affordable homes.
