CasaBlanca Resort and Virgin River Hotel announce wide variety of entertainment options for June

MESQUITE, Nev. — The summer entertainment season is heating up, and Mesquite Gaming will be offering a variety of live stage entertainment options in large and small settings, including up-and-coming bands, brilliant tribute artists and talented lounge acts.

Check out this list of the best activities coming to the CasaBlanca Resort and Virgin River Hotel in Mesquite in June and start off your summer of with some fun.

CasaBlanca Resort Events Center and special events

The latest addition in event space, the CasaBlanca Events Center is the prime location for larger meetings and events. Just steps outside the resort, the event center is 33,000 square feet and has played host to numerous concerts, sporting events and banquets serving as many as 1,200 people.

  • June 6-8 — Phins to the West — The three-day concert series starts off with Stars on the Water, a tropical rock ‘n’ roll style music, notorious for spontaneous conga lines and a party atmosphere. Jimmy Parrish & the Waves, the Friday night headliner, is the ultimate tropical rock band. Rounding up the three-day event is Donny Brewer & the Dockrockers, playing everything from country to island tunes. Tickets on sale now and can be purchased through Star Tickets or through CasaBlanca Resort. Additional poolside entertainment is free to the public and will take place Thursday through Saturday.
  • June 13 — Movies at the Pool “Aquaman” — Enjoy classic movie hits at CasaBlanca poolside this summer. The first movie “Aquaman” is free admission and open to all ages. Doors open at 6 p.m. and movie starts at 8:30 p.m. or sundown.
  • June 20 — Elvis Rocks Mesquite — Poolside opener meet and greet, karaoke at the “Splash Bar” poolside. Admission is free for all ages.
  • June 20 — Movies at the Pool “Spinout” — Start your “Elvis Rocks Mesquite” weekend with “Spinout” at the CasaBlanca pool. Free admission and open to all ages. Doors open at 6 p.m. and movie starts at 9 p.m. or sundown.
  • June 26 — Casapoolooza Concert Series: Spazmatics! and DJ Malandra — The Casapoolooza Concert series are free poolside performances all summer long. This June, enjoy Mesquite’s favorite ’80s nerds as they rock out poolside to the best of the ’80s pop and rock. Warm up with DJ Malandra before the concert. The swimming pool will be open during the event.

CasaBlanca Showroom 

With a capacity of 475 people, the CasaBlanca Showroom provides an eclectic mix of live stage entertainment and state-of-the-art sound.

  • May 31, 8:30 p.m. — Comedy Machine — Join three top comedians, Bob Kubota, Brian McKim and Tom Bomb, as they come together for a fun night of laughter. Tickets on sale now and can be purchased through Star Tickets or through CasaBlanca Resort. Free admission for those born from May 30 – June 2.
  • June 1, 8:30 p.m. — Bobby Brooks Wilson: Tribute to the Motown Years — Bobby Brooks Wilson pays special tribute to his father, Jackie Wilson, a legendary soul R&B artist, in his set “Tribute to the Motown Years.” Wilson has the moves, the swagger and the audience in the palm of his hands as his moves through the years of Motown music. Tickets on sale now and can be purchased through Star Tickets or through CasaBlanca Resort.
  • June 21-22 — Elvis Rocks Mesquite – Tribute Artist Competition — The three-day event features the world’s best Elvis tribute artists. Elvis contestants compete in three eras: the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s and Mesquite Gaming will give away $10,000 in prize money. The weekend will be jam-packed with outstanding tributes, slick hair, hip-thrusting action and memorable music performed by the greatest Elvis enthusiasts and entertainers from around the world.     • June 21, 1:30 p.m. – Preliminary round ’50s.
    • June 21, 8:30 p.m. – Preliminary round ’60s.
    • June 22, 1:30 p.m. – Preliminary round ’70s.
    • June 22, 8:30 p.m. – The finals 8:30 p.m.
  • June 29Shannon Rae in Concert & Urban Skies — Shannon Rae and her band, 100 Proof, bring a high energy performance of original country songs, inspired by artists such as Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, and more. Also appearing will be “Urban Skies” the best tribute band to Keith Urban. Tickets on sale now and can be purchased through Star Tickets or through CasaBlanca Resort.

CasaBlanca Skydome Lounge

The Skydome Lounge features a wide variety of music including dance, R&B, classic rock and Motown. Lounge entertainment runs Tuesdays 6-10 p.m., Wednesdays 7 p.m. to midnight, Thursdays 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Sundays 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

  • Every Tuesday Night, 6 p.m. — Tribute to the King — “From Memphis to Las Vegas – A Tribute to the King” starring John Brooks
  • May 29 to June 2 — 360 Band — A versatile, high-energy band, with lead vocalists and a rhythm section, which includes a drummer, bassist, lead guitarist and keyboardist.

  • June 12-16 — High Rise — High Rise, the high energy dance band on the Las Vegas Strip, will take you higher with feel-good music that will keep you dancing all night long. High Rise performs a mix of current and retro pop, rock, dance and R&B.

  • June 19-23 — Gregg Peterson — With his four-piece band, Gregg Peterson creates his own powerful and distinctive sound. Mesquite and Las Vegas’ favorite variety and dance band – he plays classics from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s to the contemporary hits of today in one sharply-dressed package.

  • June 26-30 — Sixties Mania — Performing the greatest hits from the ’60s and ’70s, Sixties Mania is one of the leading revival rock bands in the USA today. Sixties Mania covers everything from the Beatles British invasion to the music of Woodstock and everything in between.

They are a versatile, energetic band who’ve played throughout the West for several years entertaining audiences young and old alike. Their repertoire consists of classic rock, disco, oldies, country and everything in between.

  • June 14-15, 8 p.m. — Psychobilly — A special fusion of dance, country and rock, Psychobilly keeps the party shaking with a wide variety of hits.

  • June 28-29, 8 p.m. — Guitars and Cadillacs — Guitars and Cadillacs plays a delightful blend of old and newer country, as well as favorite hits from the ’50s. The music lineup includes songs from country legends like Hank Williams, Willie Nelson and George Strait, to ’50s icons like the Everly Brothers, Ricky Nelson and Chuck Berry.
