ST. GEORGE — If you’re looking for ways to spend time with your dad, grandpa, uncle or others in Southern Utah this Father’s Day, here are some ideas.

Whether your dad loves the outdoors or just relaxing, St. George and Cedar City have options for you to spend time together.

For the more competitive or sporty dads out there, a free game of mini golf or bowling will be available for fathers in St. George Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Fiesta Fun Center located at 750 Ridgeview Drive.

If your dad enjoys being active, there will be an opportunity to test your speed together during an online-facilitated race on Sunday. The Father’s Day 5K and 10K in St. George allows you to choose which distance you want and where to complete, such as at the gym, on a trail or on a track.

“You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself,” organizers said.

The cost of the race is $20, and entrants receive a medal and bib. In addition, 15% of entry cost will go to Team Hoyt — a marathon competing team in which Dick Hoyt pushes his son Rick Hoyt, who is paralyzed. Together, the two have competed in 1,000 races.

If you’re looking for ways to entertain your dad, a “Master Singers Father’s Day Concert” will be held Sunday from 7-8 p.m. at the Heritage Center Theater, located at 105 N. 100 East in Cedar City. Admission is free.

If your dad loves local history, he may enjoy a community program by Southern Utah University involving a presentation about Old Iron Town and why it’s significant in Southern Utah’s mining industry. The presentation will be given by Samantha Kirkley, state coordinator for Utah Project Archaeology, Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Iron Springs Adventure Resort, located 3196 N. Iron Springs Road.

In the midst of enjoying activities with your dad, don’t forget to satisfy his cravings with some deals in Southern Utah.

A couple of the restaurants in Southern Utah offering deals on Father’s Day include El Pollo Loco, which is offering a 12-piece Fire-Grilled Familia Dinner for $20, and Firehouse Subs, which is offering dad a free medium sub with the purchase of a full-priced medium or large sub, plus a drink and chips.
