ST. GEORGE — Region 10’s all-region high school girls soccer teams have been announced, with senior forward Jantzyn Losee of Crimson Cliffs being named the region’s most valuable player.

Losee scored 18 goals, the most of any 4A player in the state, as she led the Mustangs to a 17-3 overall record, which included an undefeated 12-0 mark in region play. In the state playoffs, the Mustangs advanced all the way to the state championship game, where they lost 1-0 in the second overtime period to Mountain Crest.

Crimson Cliffs coach Kat Esplin said Losee has “the biggest hunger and drive for scoring than any player I’ve ever seen.”

“She was such a threat on the field that teams would double-team and even triple-team her,” Esplin said. “Every time she got the ball in the final third, everyone watching knew there was a really good chance something exciting would happen.”

Esplin also lauded Losee’s work ethic and attitude, noting that the senior also recorded four assists in addition to her 18 goals this season.

“She worked hard every single day at practice and always had a positive attitude,” Esplin said. “She was always willing to do anything she could to help our team be successful.”
