Updated Nov. 5, 1 p.m. to include the names of the two passengers who died in the crash.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden told Cedar City News the incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. on state Route 56 a few miles west of Beryl Junction, near mile marker 15.

Roden said the vehicle, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, was heading east when it went off the left side of the road and struck an embankment lining the cross street at 7200 West.

The vehicle then rolled multiple times, ejecting all five of the teens who were inside, he said.

Two of the occupants, a 17-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, were pronounced dead at the scene, Roden said.

Wednesday afternoon, Roden confirmed the names of the deceased passengers as Brody Bulloch, 17, and Jaylee Culbertson, 13.

One female passenger was transported to St. George Regional Medical Center via Intermountain Life Flight helicopter in critical condition, while the two remaining occupants were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals.

None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Roden added.

The teenage boy driver, 16, was among the survivors, Roden said. The driver was reportedly listed in serious condition as of Thursday afternoon, while one other passenger was listed in fair condition.

Investigators have already been in contact with juvenile court prosecutors, who will screen the case for possible charges against the driver, Roden added.

The cause and other details regarding the crash are still under investigation, Roden said. UHP’s Major Crash Investigation Team and the State Bureau of Investigation are assisting.

Traffic in the area was impacted for a few hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

This report is based on information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.
