Bonnie Lenore Cameron

Aug. 5, 1942 – Dec 6, 2021

Bonnie Lenore Cameron, age 79, returned to her loving Heavenly Father on Dec 6, 2021. Bonnie was born in Mesa, Arizona on Aug. 5, 1942, to Osmer and Jenett Baker. Bonnie was the 9th child out of 11.

On Oct. 7, 1958, she married John Cameron in Bellflower, California. They had two daughters and she was the stepmother to John’s daughter. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended high school at Downey High in Downey, California. Bonnie got married young and her parents asked that she please continue to stay in school. She quit in the 11th grade, and it was something that always bothered her, so she kept her promise and went to adult education school and received her High School Diploma in 1979. She also attended some college.

Bonnie lived in a lot of states, Arizona, Utah, California, Washington, and Nevada.  Her husband had to travel for work sometimes three weeks out of a month, so she acted as both a mother and father at that time. She loved her family and would enjoy visits to her sibling’s homes. Bonnie had gotten her Real estate license later in life and work alongside of her husband until she was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. After treatment the cancer came back, and she received a stem cell transplant at the University of Utah Hospital. She made a full recovery, and we were blessed to have her in our lives another 20 years.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, 11 a.m. at the Ivins Cemetery, 200 W 400 N, Ivins, Utah.

She is survived by her daughter Laurie (George) McGee of Washington, Utah, stepdaughter Kathy (Chris) Jacobs of Fortuna, California, Sister Norma Chambers of Moreno Valley, California, and Sister Linda (Raymond) Russell of Arlington, Washington, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Cameron, Her daughter Lisa Cameron Wemple, 2 brothers Osmer Baker and John (Kaye) Baker, 6 sisters Beth Baker, Clarice Davis, Louise (Ross) Buttars, Marleen Pitcher, Helen Baker, and Jennett Baker.

The family would like to thank Spilsbury Mortuary, Dr. Claude Warner, and Temple View Independent Living.
