‘Tis the season of giving, and State Farm insurance agent Brandon Hunt is setting out to make Christmas a bit more merry for five deserving local families.

“It’s a tough time right now,” Hunt said. “Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I wanted to help out some families in need.”

Hunt is accepting nominations for families in the community that are struggling to make ends meet this holiday season. He’ll give $300 to each household to ensure they have presents underneath their tree.

To nominate a family, call Hunt’s office at 435-767-9100 or send an email to [email protected]. Nominations will be accepted through the weekend.

“Tell us about them and why they deserve some extra Christmas cheer this year,” he said.

Early next week, Hunt and his team will review all the nominations and select five winners. Each family will receive the money as a prepaid gift card.

Hunt has called Southern Utah home for 11 years and began serving the greater St. George area as a State Farm agent in 2015. He said he has always wanted to do a Christmas giveaway, and things finally came together this year.

Hunt hopes that this act of generosity will serve as the beginning of a holiday tradition for his office. He plans to help out as many local families as he can every Christmas.

“We just wanted to give back and say thanks to everybody that has supported us over the years,” he said. “We want to do what we can to help others during the holiday season.”
