ST. GEORGE — Two cars tangled in front of the automobile dealerships on Hilton Drive in St. George Wednesday afternoon, resulting in one of the drivers being taken to the hospital.
A silver Kia SUV was traveling south on Hilton Drive, St. George Police Officer Tyrell Bangerter said, when an orange Mitsubishi Eclipse drove out of a car dealership and into the path of the Kia. The resulting collision crushed the front of the Kia and severely damaged the left side of the Mitsubishi.
Following the crash, the driver of the Kia was transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George with lower extremity pain, Bangerter said. The driver of the Mitsubishi complained of head pain but refused ambulance transport and was taken to the hospital by her mother.
Both cars were inoperable and were towed from the scene.
A citation was issued to the Mitsubishi driver for failure to yield upon entering the roadway, Bangerter said.
Traffic was restricted to one lane for about 30 minutes while the investigation and cleanup of the accident took place.
Units from the St. George Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance and St. George Fire Department responded to the accident.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Oh, man, here’s the quintessential auto accident story in St. George. Two cars on a clear summer day at an auto dealership, no less! with no traffic around in a collision that puts at least one person in the hospital. Talk about paying absolutely no attention! There’s no excuse for an accident like this, and I don’t want to read any. Jack*** driving doesn’t require a license. Hey, it doesn’t even require a brain. Long live Utah and its jack*** drivers.
