‘Stuff the Bus’ event helps students in need start the year right

ST. GEORGE — United Way Dixie is once again partnering with Allconnect for their “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive on July 29 in the Allconnect parking lot, 1572 S. Dixie Drive, in St. George. This is the second year the two groups have worked together with the community to gather, donate and stuff a full-size school bus to the top with school supplies.

Donated supplies from the Stuff the Bus event will go directly to children in need within the Washington County School District, helping them start the school year off with success.

Businesses and groups are encouraged to support the drive by hosting a drive for school supplies during the month of July and then joining United Way Dixie and Allconnect on July 29 to stuff that bus.

Needed items include:

  • Full-size backpacks
  • Standard-size backpacks
  • Spiral notebooks
  • 1-inch black binders
  • Pencils
  • Highlighters
  • Glue sticks
  • Pens (black, blue and red ink)
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Erasers
  • Colored pencils
  • Binder dividers
  • Blunt tip scissors
  • 3-by-4-inch index cards
  • Crayons
  • Rulers

During the drive, free breakfast will be served from 8-11 a.m., as well as free Zeppe’s Italian Ice from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., all while supplies last.

    Come on people! When you’re out shopping pick up some items and donate and stuff the bus!

    Teachers don’t get paid enough and often times they are buying supplies for their classes and students. Donate donate donate and take the burden off the teachers.

    Let’s get these kids the supplies they need to be productive.

    (The Mormon church has lots of money they should fill 3+ buses)

    But now that the bus will be stuffed I’m sure dumbob and lowlife can walk to school. but after their mental hygiene appointment of course ! Lmao .. now that’s some funny stuff right there. !
