REVIEW — There are plenty of films to choose from this Thanksgiving weekend. In this week’s episode of “Film Fanatics” – sans Bruce Bennett – Adam takes a look at Walt Disney Pictures’ newest “Moana,” the Robert Zemeckis wartime romance thriller “Allied” and the coming-of-age dramedy “Edge of Seventeen.”
First up, Walt Disney Pictures is back with a new animated feature from the makers of “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin” and “The Emperor’s New Groove.” Adam says the Polynesian-tinged “Moana” has elements of all three of those movies
In “Allied,” Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard play spies in love during the Nazi regime. Adam offers his two cents as to whether this latest espionage mystery from the great Robert Zemeckis brings the intrigue.
With “Edge of Seventeen,” writer/director Kelly Freman Craig gets her John Hughes on and Hailee Steinfeld is along for the ride. Does this teen angst flick get a hallpass or a suspension?
Finally, Adam offers his recommendation for “the best Thanksgiving movie ever.”
